Ahli have agreed to cover the expenses of repairing damages by their fans at the Army Stadium following Sunday's Champions League win over Tusker. The Cairo club said on their website that a sum of EGP 500,000 has been agreed with the stadium's management following ‘inexplicable damages caused by the fans'. The African champions, who coasted to a 2-0 victory over their Kenyan visitors, welcomed back their passionate ultras fans in the round of 32 second leg. Shortly before Emad Meteb scored the second goal, a myriad of fireworks were lighted from the Ahli stands, with one canister falling right in front of Tusker's goalkeeper. A CAF sanction seems imminent against the Reds, who face Tunisia's CA Bizertin in the next round. Calm Meanwhile, Ahli coach Mohamed Youssef commented on the fireworks incident, urging the fans to keep their calm for the sake of the team. “Of course the atmosphere was wonderful with the fans present but what happened in the stands could well cost Ahli," the former Egypt international said. “The fireworks and the crowd trouble could well see us fined by CAF, that's why I hope the fans would keep their calm." Ahli boss Hossam Al-Badri also spoke in the same manner saying: “I think the performance of the players was influenced by what happened in the stands. “It actually affected us as a managing staff. Everyone had their eyes on the crowd."
