Ismaili made it to the Arab Club Cup semi finals after claiming a 4-1 penalty shootout win over Algeria's Chabab Belouizdad in the return leg at Cairo's Air Defense Stadium. Following a 1-1 first-leg draw in Algeria, Ismaili and Belouizdad played out another stalemate in Cairo. midfielder Amr Al-Sulaya's 19th minute left-footed strike was cancelled out by a goal from Algeria striker Islam Slimani after the break. But the Dervishes managed to march through the competition's quarter-finals with Ahmed Khairi, Al-Sulaya, Sameh Abdul-Fadil and John Antwi converting from the spot, whereas Islam Slimani hit the visitors' only attempt from 12 yards.
