Bani Yas and Egypt midfielder Mohamed Abou-Treika will have to spend another week on the sidelines with a hamstring injury. Treika, who missed last week's league win over Al-Shaab, was initially declared fit for the Gulf Cup clash against Al-Faisali of Saudi Arabia this week. However, the 34-year-old will also be ruled out of the regional game with another hamstring complaint. “Abou-Treika was supposed to be fit for the game and he actually trained with the team on Sunday, but then he felt more pain in his hamstring," Bani Yas football director Saleh Ismail told Emirate media. “The manager decided to rule him out of the Faisali match and we will see how long is going to be out. It seems like a one-week layoff." Abou-Treika, who scored two goals in as many games for his new club, is now a major doubt for the league clash with Al-Fujairah next week.
