Egypt star Mohamed Salah featured for the whole game in Basel's 2-1 Swiss league victory at Lausanne. The visitors took the lead in the 35th minute when midfielder Valentin Stocker followed in a saved spot kick, which was initially won by Salah. Chilean midfielder Marcelo Diaz made it two seven minutes later before Chris Malonga pulled one back for Lausanne in the second half that saw a strike by Salah denied by the post. Salah, who hit six goals for the Swiss champs in all competitions so far, played full 90 minutes for the first time since the 4-1 league win over Sion back in September last year. Egypt teammate Mohamed Al-Nenni, who was introduced in the 2-0 Europa League win over Ukraine's Dnipro few days ago, was an unused sub throughout the game. Basel retained second place of the league standings on 39 points, four adrift of leaders Grasshoppers.
