A criminal court Saturday resumed the retrial of a business mogul and ex-policeman accused of killing a Lebanese singer in Dubai. In May 2009, a criminal court setenced to death Hesham Talaat Moustafa, a leading real-estate developer, and Mohssen el-Sukkari, an ex-policeman, of murdering Lebanese pop diva Suzanne Tamim with which Hesham, an ex-MP, had a brief affair. But last March, the Court of Cassation, Egypt's highest judicial authority, accepted the two convicts' appeal and ordered their retrial. Late last month, Suzanne's family waived their accusation of Hesham, and denied they dropped the charges for money.
