A MEDIA performance evaluation commission presents today a complete appraisal report to Information Minister Anas el-Feqqi about a live talk show on official Egyptian television has failed to reconcile a senior sports commentator and a former judge, who have been embroiled in a set of legal and media disputes since last summer, TV officials said on Sunday. Abid by "Egypt Today" has fizzled out to settle the long standing rows between arch foes MP Ahmed Shobier and exjudge Murtadah Mansour, who took the chance to trade accusations against each other on the air, they added. Minister el-Feqqi ordered the commission to appraise the programme's content after many viewers complained that they were offended by the harsh words that were being used by Shobier and Murtadha, who used the entire show to settle their old accounts. The commission members, including senior media officials, will present their report to el-Feqqi today about the alleged violations as the administrative actions should be taken against the programme presenters in order to avoid the recurrence of such “professional blunders” in the future, the officials said.
