BISSAU – Soldiers entered the office of GuineaBissau Prime Minister Carlos Gomes Junior on Thursday and detained him, according to a Reuters witness. The incident happened minutes after a group of soldiers went to the nearby United Nations office and walked out with Bubo Na Tchuto, a former navy chief who had been taking refuge there after being suspected of leading a failed 2008 coup. President Malam Bacai Sanha did not appear to be affected by the incidents, said a Western diplomat in the capital contacted by telephone.
