THE Egyptians are earnestly solicited to rid themselves of bad habits as part of improving the nation's image rather than wasting time in useless songs that are being heard day and night about people's love for their country. The people should behave in a civilised manner, quit ugly habits, clean up their language and clean the environment. Each citizen should voluntarily keep his/her respective city clean. Bad street habits and the unwillingness of many Egyptians to stand in line are identified as blights on the nation's image. Citizens, young and old, city or village dwellers, no matter what their job is or where they come from, are urged to take action at once to improve the image of their nation. In the meantime, the government must solve the problems of the people, take realistic solutions ant try to uproot their causes. The government, private businesses owners and NGOs are urged to shoulder their responsibilities and unite in a show of people power to achieve this much desired goal. In the meantime, the nation needs a modern comprehensive programme to help revive and strengthen the good old values of self-respect and social responsibility among school children. During this much needed programme, children should undertake voluntary charity work and physical training during the school year to help groom them for adulthood. In the meantime, the government and the private sector should inject more money for school improvements and enhancing children's services nation wide. Moreover, tackling the issue of anti-social behaviour and youth crime must appear high on the government's agenda after a growing wave of teenage crimes. The proposed programme should also aim to bring children together from different social backgrounds to instil a sense of responsibility and teach them self-respect in order to be good citizens in the future. Now is the time to help all the people learn the almost forgotten good old Egyptian values. By the Way If a woman tries to show something, be sure that she is attempting to hide something else.
