In 2010, the lawyer acting on behalf of the then recently deceased Professor Abdurrahman Ali Awzya Faba, Egyptologist and author of several books on ancient Egyptian literature, found an unusual clause in the late Professor Faba's last will and testament, instructing that efforts to restore the ‘Giants' to their rightful place in the Egyptian Museum be continued. On being informed of the reference in the clause to ‘Giants', the Supreme Council for Antiquities (SCA) admitted that they were at a loss as to what Professor Faba had meant. Said one SCA official, who spoke to the Russian magazine ‘Oktyabr' on condition of anonymity, ‘The ‘Giants' may signify a race of mythical creatures who were said to have lived in the Afterworld.' ‘These beings are described here are there in papyrus texts, notably the Book of the Dead,' the official added. ‘Regarding their origin and purpose, we know very little. The French-born Jean-Francois Champollion, who deciphered the hieroglyphs, mentions an obscure sentence in the hieratic and hieroglyphic texts of the Rosetta Stone.' Dr Ifor Noweidia of the University of Bangor, Wales, takes up the story. ‘Champollion found two names, of which we know only the consonant frameworks, viz. D-r-v-l and R-b-b-_,' Dr Noweidia said. ‘The Frenchman was working on a more complete version of the texts. You recall that the basalt block on which the texts are carved is broken, and it is on that fragment that the two names are said to have been attested, encircled by a double cartouche in gold leaf. ‘Alas, that fragment is lost, so we may never know the truth.' The story now takes us to the offices of ‘Scientific American', where a former Egyptian bureau chief, who spoke to the Russian Magazine ‘Komsomolskaya Pravda' on condition of anonymity, that the magazine ran an article about a bizarre discovery in Egypt in 1951. ‘Archaeologists working near the Pyramid of Cheops in Giza unearthed 15 skeletons of what appeared to be super-sized humans or humanoids,' the journalist said. ‘The average height of these beings would have been three metres. The article described in detail how the measurements were taken and meticulously recorded in a secret file,' he explained. ‘The bones were labelled, crated up and shipped to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC. The remains were never on public display. Nor were they included in the institute's inventory. ‘Unfortunately, neither the draft of the article nor the magazine in which it was published is available. The US Government ordered the seizure of editions of the magazine containing the article, and threatened those who had purchased the magazine with imprisonment or summary death if they did not surrender their copies. ‘In the meantime, someone came forward who could have blown the lid of the US government cover-up.' The journalist related that one Ali Kattab (or ‘Kaddhab' owing to a printing error) sold his story to ‘Oktober' magazine in 1956. He told the magazine that he had seen the ‘Afterlife', meticulously described by the ancient Egyptians in the pyramid texts. Mr Kattab allegedly dictated his story to the magazine, saying that he and his father had been looking for antiquities archaeologists had missed by the Great Pyramid, whereupon his father sank into a hole in the ground that had suddenly opened up. Mr Kattab tried to grab his father's hand as the latter was swallowed up, but the son followed the father into the bowels of the earth, where he saw "such wonders to behold". "I saw huge creatures, four times the size of those we know in our world. A race of giants lives under the Great Pyramid. They are three metres tall and very hospitable. They saw that my father and I were hungry, so they slaughtered a super-sized camel-like creature. Stuffed with enormous peppers, aubergines the size of gas bombs and carrots as big as marrows, the camel-like creature could have kept us fed for a month. "The giants showed us marvels of technology that was way in advance of that in our world. My father and I spent two years with these people, until I decided to return and find out what had become of my family. My father, meanwhile, stayed with the underworld people beneath the pyramid." Three weeks after he told his story to the magazine, Mr Kattab's body was found 45 kilometres north of Cairo on the central reservation of the desert road to Alexandria. Nearby villagers spoke of bright lights from the sky and giant creatures in the dark the night Mr Kattab allegedly met his demise. Professor Faba also had in his possession a text dating back to 4,415 BC with the account by one S'l-y Wa-Ankh-Are, who was said to have been a farmer who had a plot of land where the Cheops Pyramid now stands. He, too, tells of a hole opening up and encounters with giant creatures. As for the cameras on trolleys that were sent down the shafts of the Great Pyramid in 2006, the outcome of that investigation was inconclusive, or so the world believes. In fact, a source at the American space agency (NASA) alleges that the entrance to an "underworld of sorts" was discovered. The film and related documents were seized by NASA and have never seen the light of day. Great story, isn't it? There is only one problem: I made it up and stuck it down these last fifteen minutes. And it was inspired by the 4.5 per cent of drivel one finds on the Internet. (Ninety-five per cent is pornography and 1.5 per cent is actually worth reading.) Notice how the reader is made to feel that s/he is the victim of actions by governments, including suppression of information. Never mind the facts, be prepared to be outraged by the alleged perpetrators of cover-ups and whitewashing. Cover-uppers and whitewashers are usually the fashionable enemy of the day: the US, the Russians, Zionists. Unfortunately, the gullible millions lap up this stuff daily. This is the stuff of obfuscation, in which politicians worldwide are experts. If we have access to credible, substantiated facts, maybe we can make sounder, more reasonable judgments about our present and future. By the way, what is a fact?
