EGYPT'S Ambassador to Algeria Abdel Aziz Seif el-Nasser returned to the Algerian capital Saturday to resume his work, after he was recalled for consultations following attacks on Egyptian fans by Algerians, after the World Cup playoff in Sudan last November. "Ambassador Seif el-Nasr traveled back to Algiers Saturday," a Cairo Airport source said. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry recalled the ambassador to the Arab country on November 20 after Algerians violently attacked Egyptian fans who were in Khartoum to support the Pharaohs doomed bid to qualify for the 2010 World Cup. The Algerian ambassador had been back in Cairo last month after he was summoned for consultations in his home country. An earlier clash between the two teams in Cairo, which was won by Egypt 2-0, led to violence against Egyptians and Egyptian businesses in Algeria. Algerians also claimed that their team members were stoned by Egyptian fans in Cairo before the match. As part of the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola last month, Egypt were able to snatch a glorious victory against Algeria , crushing them 4-0 in the semi-final of the competition, before going on to lift the winner's trophy for a record breaking seventh time.
