CAIRO - Under the slogan of ‘A new vision for the active partnership between Egypt and the Czech Republic', the IYDA (Intercultural Youth Dialogue Association) hosted Czech Ambassador to Egypt Pavel Kafka. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possible opportunities for co-operation between Egyptian civil society and Czech civil society. The IYDA promotes peace among fellow nations and enhances youth capabilities in terms of intercultural understanding, by means of youth participation and civic education. "Dialogue is the most important and active way to make people closer, even more so when it happens between enemies," stressed Kafka in his opening speech. "It is very important for Egypt at this critical stage to learn from other countries' experiences, especially those countries that have passed through a similar transitional stage during their history," the Czech Ambassador added. After his opening speech, he opened an informal discussion among the IYDA volunteers who are going to represent Egypt in the ‘Intercultural dialogue by art' programme that kicks off at the end of this month in Prague, in the Czech Republic. He advised the students how to make the most of their trip to Prague and which places they ought to visit there
