CAIRO - Journalist and writer Ahmed Bahgat died on Sunday in the Contractors' Hospital in Nasr City at the age of 79, after a long battle with illness, the official Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported. Bahgat, who was famous for his 'Sonduq el-Donia' (Life Box) column in the semi-official newspaper Al-Ahram, was born in 1932. He graduated from the Faculty of Law in 1954 and started working as a journalist the following year. He wrote more than 20 books, including 'God's Prophets', 'The Best Stories' and 'The Way to God'. In 1979, Bahgat was appointed Editor-in-Chief of 'Radio and Television' magazine.
