CAIRO - Egypt's military ruler said on Wednesday that the army would not propose a candidate in the presidential election, denying speculation that it may have a military nominee in mind. In response to a question about a possible military nominee, Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi told reporters in comments carried by state news agency MENA: "We should not waste time discussing rumours." Tantawi called on Egyptians to vote in upcoming elections. Egypt starts voting in a parlimentary election on Nov. 28. It has not set a date for the presidential race, but analysts say it may not take place until the end of 2012 or the start of 2013.
