CAIRO – Al-Azhar Grand Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayyeb has met Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday, the official Middle East News Agency reported. The meeting focuses on all developments on the Arab and Islamic arena and ways of cooperations between Al-Azhar and Turkey. They have dealt with ways to encourage dialogue between Muslims and non Muslims in addition to political changes in the area under the Arab Spring. Erdogan is set to visit other Arab countries, including Tunisia. Senior officials of both sides attended the meeting. Many people, including Azhar university's students, gathered outside Al-Azhar premises, welcoming the Turkish guest and expressing support of his stand against aggressive Israeli practices.
