CAIRO - A Cairo court acquitted former Chairman of Egyptian State Television Osama el-Sheikh of graft, a judicial official was quoted by the official Middle East News Agency (MENA) as saying. "El-Sheikh was ordered to walk free by Chief Judge Mohamed Sobhi Sadeq. However, he was ordered to pay a fine of LE30,000 for ordering the sale of TV serials to satellite TV channels for unreasonably low prices," MENA reported. El-Sheikh was previously acquitted by another court for squandering public funds, in a case in which he was accused alongside former information minister Anas el-Fiqi. The official's name has been added to a blacklist of people banned from leaving the country, according to the official.
