CAIRO - Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, accompanied by senior Government ministers and ordinary citizens, performed the last Friday prayer of the holy month of Ramadan in Cairo Friday. Sharaf's appearance at the Rashdan Mosque was welcomed by the Grand Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Ali Gomaa, and Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Ahmed el-Tayyeb. Jummah-tul-Widaa (the last Friday of Ramadan) is a very significant Friday prayer for Muslims from all over the world seeking forgiveness for past sins and praying for future guidance.
