CAIRO (Updated) - Egyptian incumbent Prime Minister Essam Sharaf resumed on Wednesday his consultations to reshuffle the government after his relative health recovery, Al-Youm Al-Sabie website reported. Sharaf should have announced on Monday his new government, but he was hospitalised due to exhaustion and was recommended to get some rest. The premier has faced confusion as certain candidates in the new government have excused themselves and protesters in Tahrir Square have not agreed on some of Sharaf's nominations for the cabinet. He was criticised by some of the Revolution Youth Coalition co-ordinators on the grounds that the demands of the revolution were not being met. According to Al-Youm Al-Sabie, Sharaf is working to replace some of the former Mubarak regime ministers including current Minister of Electricity Hassan Younes and Minister of International Co-operation Fayza Aboul el Naga. Sharaf also is looking to cancel the post of State Minister of Antiquities. Meanwhile, the Liberal Egyptian Party (LEP) has opposed the nomination for Deputy Prime Minister for democratic transition and political development affairs Ali el-Selami as he is a Wafd Party figure. The LEP called on Sharaf to fill this post with an independent minister. "This appointment would not guarantee objectivity and neutrality," Mohamed Hammed, a member of the LEP Political Office told the website.
