CAIRO – Train services between Cairo and Upper Egypt resumed on Monday after the demonstrators in Al-Ayyat, Giza Governorate ended their protest, following the removal of relay station there by a mobile phone company. Thousands of protesters had gathered late on Sunday, objecting to the installation of the relay station by the company. They set fire to the railway line, refusing to back down unless the station were removed. About 240 foreign passengers had to cancel their bookings, owing to the unrest.
