CAIRO – A blueprint of the 2011/2012 economic development plan would be put forth for debate within two weeks, an economic expert said on Sunday. Ashraf el-Arabi asserted that representatives of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and youth of the revolution would participate in the blueprint. The plan is envisaged to give priority to the development of human resources by increasing allocations for education, scientific research and health services by 30 per cent whereas agriculture would get an extra 30 per cent compared to last year. He pointed out that the draft would be published on Facebook to enhance participation and societal interaction. El-Arabi admitted that economic status in Egypt is difficult, but the solution according to his view requires transparency and pinpointing available resources and priorities of society.
