CAIRO - Egypt's Alexandria Cotton Exporters' Association (Alcotexa) committed to sell 302 tonnes of cotton in the two weeks that ended on April 30, an Alcotexa official told Reuters Monday. The sales comprised 42 tonnes of Giza 70, 210 tonnes of Giza 88 and 50 tonnes of Giza 86, the official said. The deal brings Alcotexa's export commitments for the 2010/11 season, which began in September 2010, to 110,515 tonnes of cotton worth $454.87 million, the official said. By this time last year, Alcotexa had sold 68,554 tonnes of cotton worth $158.76 million.
