CAIRO - The Coalition of Free Egypt, in collaboration with the rest of the Co-ordinating Committee of the Revolution, has called on all Egyptians to celebrate the ‘Friday of Victory' next Friday, in order to thank the armed forces for all their hard work in protecting the revolution, the official Middle East News Agency (MENA) reports. The celebrations will be held on the Nasr Road in Nasr City. "It's high time for the Egyptians to express their appreciation for the Army, which protected people from the former regime and supported the protesters throughout the revolution till the end," Tareq Zidan, the founder of the Coalition of Free Egypt, told MENA. "Egyptians will stand near the monument to the Unknown Soldier in Nasr City, to express their appreciation for the Army," he said, adding that the gatherings and demonstrations in Al Tahrir Square have been suspended since the ‘Friday of Cleansing' on April 8. The Co-ordinating Committee of the Egyptian Revolution includes seven organisations the Revolution of Board Trustees Council, the Muslim Brotherhood, the National Association for Change, the Coalition of the Revolution Youth, the Alliance of Egypt's Rebels, the Coalition of Free Egypt and the January 25 Youth Movement as well as some independent academic figures.
