CAIRO - A military source close to the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, which took over after the ousting of former President Hosni Mubarak, denied Thursday that its chief has recently given press remarks to any Egyptian or foreign news outlet. "Field Marshal Hussein Tanatwi has not given any interviews in the recent time," the military official said, commenting on a report by a Kuwaiti newspaper that quoted a German magazine. Al-Anbaa, a Kuwaiti daily, reported that Tanatawi had been interviewed by Germany's Der Spiegel. The Kuwaiti daily quoted the Egyptian military leader, in what was described as extracts from the Der Spiegel interview, as saying that there were so many foiled bids of coup inside the Egyptian army since Mubarak was toppled.
