Egypt's labour force stood at 25.3 million in 2010, an official report said Tuesday. Women account for 23.4 per cent of Egyptian workforce, the Cabinet's Information and Decision-Support Centre (IDSC) said in the report, carried by the official Middle East News Agency (MENA). "The labour force accounts for 30.5 per cent of the country's population," IDSC said. Egypt is the most populous Arab country with 80 million people. Unemployment in Egypt stood at nine per cent of labour force in 2010, according to the State-run Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS). But unofficial reports say that unemployment stands at 15-20 per cent. The population of Egypt is forecast to total 99 million by 2025, according to a UN report. By 2050, Egypt's Supreme Council for Urban Planning and Development forecasts the population to reach 140-155 million.
