CAIRO - Egypt's national soccer team are ready for Saturday's crucial African Cup of Nations (ACN) qualifier against South Africa (Bafana) at 8:05pm Cairo local time, according to a senior official. "Despite the recent difficult circumstances, the Pharaohs can still win the game," said Egypt's technical coach Hassan Shehata, ahead of the game. "The game is going to be tough because all local competitions have been halted for a while," Shehata told Egyptian TV. "I'm sure that all the players have a strong spirit, as the Egyptian revolution has deepened their love for their country." The Egyptian team, struggling at the bottom of Group G, are hoping to beat Bafana to regain their confidence to qualify for the 2012 ACN in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. Egypt were held 1-1 in Cairo by Sierra Leone last September and suffered a stunning 1-0 loss in Niger. South Africa have four points, Niger three, Sierra Leone two and Egypt one. The defending champions need at least a draw in South Africa to retain a realistic chance of topping the final table. Egypt have chosen nine of the team that won the ACN a record third consecutive time last year for tonight's faceoff.
