CAIRO - Alhurra TV, a US Arabic service, said Wednesday that Egypt's ex-President Hosni Mubarak had left for Saudi Arabia to receive treatment from cancer pancreas at a hospital in north of the Kingdom. Lebanon's Future TV, known to be close to the Saudi regime, confirmed the news. Mubarak underwent gallbladder surgery in Heidelberg, Germany, last March. Recent reports said that the health of Mubarak who had been in power for 30 years before he finally resigned on February 11 following sweeping protests, was deteriorating. Days before the ouster, Germany had offered to receive Mubarak where he can have medical treatment but he declined the offer.
