MADRID - The 31st International Tourism Exhibition (Fitur) in Madrid will end tomorrow, highlighting new potentials for the global tourism industry. Tourism ministers and officials from 166 countries attended meetings of the Madrid-based United Nations' World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) to discuss future co-operation. Twenty-four Egyptian exhibitors, including travel agencies, hotels and EgyptAir took part in the five-day event, which aimed at boosting the toursim industry worldwide. Egypt's delegation included Amr el-Ezabi, the head of the Egyptian Tourist Authority; Omayma el-Husseini, media advisor to the Minister of Tourism; Ahmed el-Nahas, the Chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Federation; Wagdi el- Kerdani, the Chrairman of the Chamber of Establishments and Ayman Ezz Eddin, Egypt's Ambassador to Spain. The UNWTO stressed the need to facilitate and promote the exchange of information and knowledge between the governmental and non-governmental sectors of world tourism.
