ASWAN - The Administrative Control Authority in Aswan succeeded in seizing an investor red-handed while he was offering an LEl00, 000 bribe to a high profile member of the Lake Nasser Development Authority. The investor was expecting the director of the authority's fisheries sector to write a report to the effect that the former had put l0, 500,000 fish fry (newly spawned fish) in the lake, which action, in actual fact, had not taken place. The investor had leased a fish farm to enrich fish wealth in the lake and had been also licensed to make use of an adjacent plot of 600 feddans (acres) for agricultural purposes. The authority's employee reported the bribery attempt to his superiors and he was requested to fake a deal to this effect. An appointment was duly fixed at a famous cafe in Aswan where the investor was arrested and referred to the prosecution.
