CAIRO - THE Higher State Security Court adjourned until February 13 the trial of 25 men accused of plotting an armed attack on a jewellery shop in the Cairo district of Zaitoun two years ago, legal sources said. The suspects, including Palestinians and Egyptians, face charges of conspiracy to murder, spying for a foreign organisation with the intent of conducting terrorist attacks and weapons possession. The court has decided to adjourn the trial until February 13 to hear testimonies by the prosecution and defendants' witnesses, the sources said. The defendants, who are members of what is called the "Zaitoun Cell Case", said that they belonged to the banned Muslim Brotherhood group but that they had left the organisation in recent years. The Higher State Security Court was set up under Egypt's Emergency Law, which has been in place since 1981. Its rulings are final.
