CAIRO - Thousands of Christian tourists and Muslims, led by South Sinai Governor Abdul Fadeel Shousha and ambassadors in Egypt, gathered Saturday at the foot of Mount Sinai to celebrate and pray at St. Catherine's Festival, reports. Governor Shousha and members of the St. Catherine's Monastery led the prayers attended by the Muslim and Christian guests in a show of tolerance and solidarity between the two faiths. Bishop Demanouss welcomed those who came to celebrate the festival, which he described an embodiment of tolerance, love between members of the two religions. St. Catherine is one of the oldest Christian monasteries in the world. It incorporates the burning bush seen by Moses and contains many valuable icons.
