Kafr el-Sheikh (Egypt) - A 32-year-old Egyptian housewife gave birth to four babies early Sunday in the Nile Delta Governorate of Kafr el- Sheikh, doctors said. Huweida Nasr Mahmoud is in good health after a natural delivery, doctors at Kafr el-Sheikh General Hospital, where the woman gave birth, added. The newborns,two boys and two girls, weigh between one kilo and 1,500 grammes. They are in stable condition,the doctors said. The babies have been placed in incubators in the hospital, which has a special premature-baby unit, they added, dismissing Huweida case as a very rare pregnancy. Huweida, the wife of a seasonal worker, was admitted to the Hospital's Emergency Room earlier in the day, the doctors said, adding that the woman had never taken fertility drugs. They said the woman already had a son and daughter. Huweida's 40-year-old husband, Shaaban Abdullah, said he was quite happy when he found out his wife gave birth to four babies. "Let God's will prevail," Shaaban said, adding that he decided to name his babies Mohamed, Mahmoud, Amal and Amani. He called on Government officials to allow the babies get free milk and diapers for two years.
