CAIRO - President Hosni Mubarak Thursday condemned a plan to burn Islam's Holy Quran as a despicable call of bigotry. "I am worried about what can this hateful call trigger of violent responses in the Arab and Muslim worlds," Mubarak told the official Middle East News Agency. Mubarak warned that the act could escalate terrorism and mutual violence across the world. A pastor of a small church in Florida, the US, has said he will go ahead with a plan to burn copies of the Qur'an on Saturday to mark the September 11 attacks. Officials in the US administration condemned the plan and warned against a backlash against the American troops in Afghanistan.
