CAIRO, Oct 6, 2018 (MENA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry called for boosting Japanese investments in Egypt. The Japanese firms are welcomed with open arms to invest in Egypt and benefit from the progress achieved in its infrastructure and its promising investment opportunities, he said in remarks he gave on Saturday during a business breakfast organized by the deputy chief cabinet secretary of Japan for a number of African ministers and representatives of major Japanese companies, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez said. The top diplomat discussed with the Japanese official ways of increasing investments of the Japanese firms in the African markets and reviewed the latest efforts exerted by the Egyptian government in the various fields of investment. He stressed the importance of paying special attention to investment in human resources especially youth, noting that this would certainly contribute to achieving the sustainable development goals in African countries in line with Africa's Agenda 2063, Hafez added. Shoukry is currently partaking in Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) which runs till Sunday. TICAD is providing an opportunity for high-level policy dialogue and has become a major global platform through which Asian and African nations, as well as international stakeholders, can collaborate to promote Africa's development.
