CAIRO, Oct 6, 2018 (MENA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said that he handed over a letter from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, congratulating him over his re-election and also reiterated the importance of fostering bilateral strategic ties. In a post on his official Facebook page, the minister said he met with Abe during his current visit to Tokyo in which they discussed a number of regional issues of mutual concern. He also added that he discussed with members of the Egyptian-Japanese business council, the Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Egyptian-Japanese parliamentary friendship association the implementation of a number of joint projects and new investment opportunities in Egypt. Shoukry said he looks forward to participating in a ministerial meeting of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) planned to be held on Saturday in order to review Egypt's vision concerning enhancing Africa's overall development.
