MINYA (Upper Egypt)- Police found the wife of a priest, who had gone missing after a family dispute, christian clerics in the southern Egyptian city of Minya, said on Saturday. "We would like to thank the Egyptian security agencies for their response and serious search for the woman," said Bishop Armia, the secretary of Pope Shenouda. The wife, identified as Kamilia Shehata had disappeared since Sunday and some Copts claimed she had been abducted. Police handed over Kamelia, 26, to her family and is now reported to be kept inside a parish in Deir Mwas in Minya. Her disappearance had promoted scores of Copts to hold a protest inside a main church on Thursday and Friday. Tensions between Egypt's Muslims and Christian minority have occasionally erupted due to disputes over conversions and sites of worship. Christians account for around 10 per cent of Egypt's 80 million population.
