Staff report: CAIRO, August 15, 2018 - A number of senior Ecuadorian officials attended a special function to celebrate the opening of an Egyptian square in Quito, ecuador, Wednesday. The square, the first of its kind in a Latin American country, features a small statue of King Ramsis II and miniatures of the Giza Pyramids, the Egyptian Ambassador to Ecuador, Abdel Moneim Omar, said. The square reflects the genuine fraternity that binds Egypt and Ecuador and which goes back to the 1960s, Ambassador Omar said.
