DAMASCUS, July 27, 2018 (MENA) - A delegation from the Washington-backed Syrian Democratic Council, the political wing of the Syrian Democratic Forces, is visiting Damascus for the first time ever to discuss the future of the self-administration areas, a leader at the council said on Friday. The delegation's first ever official visit to Damascus comes upon an invitation from the Syrian government with the aim to reach a solution for the northern Syria file, Al Arabiya news channel reported, quoting co-chairman of the Syrian National Democratic Council Riad Darar as saying. Darar added that the council is holding talks with the Syrian government's officials in Damascus, pointing out that a number of meetings will focus on security and political- related topics.
