CAIRO, July 17, 2018 - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi leaves for Sudan tomorrow, on his first foreign trip since being sworn in as Egypt's president for a second term last month. While in Khartoum, President Sisi is scheduled to hold talks with President Omar El-Bashir on bilateral relations and regional issues of mutual interest, Sudan's Ambassador Abdel Mahmoud Abdel Halim said. The two-day visit is per an invitation of President Bashir and will last for two days, during which the two leaders are also expected to discuss enhancing political and economic co-operation between the two countries, Ambassador Abdel Halim said. He added that Sudan welcomed the visit by President Sisi to the country and the two presidents would focus on strengthening Cairo-Khartoum ties in all domains. "Relations between Sudan and Egypt are historical and deeply-rooted at the political and popular levels," Ambassador Abdel Halim said. He added that relations between the two countries would remain at their best level, thanks to the keenness of the two countries' leaders to promote these relations.
