CAIRO, July 16 , 2018 (MENA) - The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) celebrated Monday the inauguration of career development centres at Menya and Beni Suef Universities. These centres, established in co-operation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the American University in Cairo (AUC), will help qualify students to labour market, Sherry Carlin, Director of the USAID Mission in Egypt. The centres will also help students determine their career paths as per labour market trends through achieving the best coordination between universities and the industrial sector in Upper Egypt, Carlin added. The USAID works in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the AUC to set up more career development centres, which contributed to providing thousands of job opportunities to Egyptian graduates, the US Embassy said in a press release on Monday. The 20 million dollar project will also witness the establishment of several career development centres at the major universities in Cairo and other governorates to serve 70 per cent of university graduates, the statement added.
