Nasr leaves for US to attend UN ECOSOC forum

CAIRO, July 14, 2018 (MENA) - Egyptian Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr is due to leave Sunday for the US to take part in the high-level forum of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), currently taking place in New York.
The minister is set to meet with officials of the World Bank and US companies for talks on boosting US investments in Egypt and promoting the country's investment map.
Nasr will participate in the inaugural ministerial session of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), a statement issued by the Investment Ministry indicated, adding that she will deliver on Monday the statement of the Group of 77 and China, which is currently led by Egypt.
Nasr will address "Projections and visions on the advancement of sustainable development" session during the forum that will see the participation of 110 high-ranking representatives from the UN member states.
While addressing a session on realizing the goals of sustainable development through investment in human resources, the minister will review Egypt's achievements in this regard.
Besides taking part in the high-level session "Trends in the Global Economy and International Trade and Finance", Nasr will be present at the closing session of the HLPF.
On the sidelines of the forum, Nasr will hold meetings with officials of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to probe prospects of bolstering cooperation during the coming period.
In Washington, Nasr is scheduled to convene with a host of World Bank officials for talks on cooperation and offering support for Egypt's current development projects.
