CAIRO, July 8, 20118 (MENA) – Egyptian Foreign Ministry Sameh Shoukry held on Sunday a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi within Shoukry's current visit to Beijing to participate in the 8th round of the Arab-China Cooperation Forum, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said. During the meeting, Shoukry hailed the deep-rooted relations between Egypt and China and discussed means of fostering bilateral relations in all fields. The minister also lauded the Chinese investments in the Egyptian national projects including the new administrative capital, power plants projects, transportation projects, the establishment of economic zone project in northeast of Suez Gulf, sewage projects and the development of Ain Sokhna port. Egypt is looking forward to facilitating the entry of the Egyptian exports to the Chinese markets as well as promoting Chinese tourism to Egypt, he added. Meanwhile, the Chinese minister said his country is looking forward to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi at the Arab-China Cooperation Forum meeting planned to be held in September. He also tackled means of boosting ties in the fields of counterterrorism, reforming and expanding UN Security Council, situations in Syria, Libya, Yemen, South Sudan and the Korean peninsula, Iran's nuclear deal, Palestinian-Israel conflict and the Ethiopian dam.
