CAIRO, July 6, 2018 (MENA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Friday called on Austrian companies to direct investments to Egypt's mega national projects, especially the SCZone development corridor and the new administrative capital. The foreign minister made the remarks during his talks, taking place in Vienna, with Speaker of Austrian House of Representatives and President of the Austrian National Council Wolfgang Sobotka. Shoukry congratulated the Austrian speaker on his country's assuming the presidency of the European Union Council as of July 1, 2018 and till the end of the year, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said. The minister expressed hope for boosting consultation and coordination between Egypt and Austria, the spokesman added. Shoukry stressed the importance of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, saying that Egypt welcomes Sobotka's visit to Egypt shortly. The speaker, for his part, welcomed the visiting Egyptian top diplomat and said that his country attaches great importance to relations with Egypt in light of its distinguished regional and international status. Speaker Sobotka noted that he is looking forward to forming an Egyptian-Austrian friendship group at the Austrian parliament. Praising the massive economic development being realized by Egypt currently, speaker Sobotka voiced eagerness to boost economic, trade and investment cooperation with Egypt.
