CAIRO, June 2, 2018 (MENA) – Egyptian Ambassador to Russia Ihab Nasr has visited Grozny city where the Egyptian national football team will set up their training camp ahead of this month's World Cup in Russia. The Egyptian diplomat inspected Grozny airport and saw for himself the preparations made to finalize arrival procedures for players as well as for any Egyptian national set to visit Grozny during this period. He also toured Akhmat Arena stadium that will host training sessions of the national team and then paid a visit to the hotel in which they are scheduled to stay. Meanwhile, Nasr met with the Chechen vice president in the presence of the ministers of sport, foreign affairs, information and tourism in addition to the Grozny mayor. The Chechen officials reviewed the measures taken to provide comfort for the players, media men and fans who are to flock to Grozny. The Chechen parliament speaker also held a fast breaking (Iftar) banquet in honor of Nasr and his accompanying delegation. The banquet was attended by Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov, the interior minister and the Grozny mayor.
