By: Ashraf Sadek CAIRO, June 1, 2018 - President Abdel Fattah EL Sisi on Saturday will be sworn-in for another four-year term in office after winning the March 26-28 presidential election. President Sisi had won a second term in office after winning 21,835,387 votes with a 97.08 percentage. Arab and foreign observers had hailed the process of Egypt's presidential elections, saying that they were held in a democratic atmosphere characterised by transparency and integrity. They agreed that the elections were held in accordance with the relevant constitutional provisions and the rules regulating the elections. They also lauded the role undertaken by army and police forces to secure the elections At today's inauguration ceremony in the House of Deputies (parliament), President Sisi is expected to deliver a keynote speech about his plans during his second term in office and renew his commitment to launch more development projects. Local, Arab and foreign satellite channels will broadcast today's ceremony, which will be attended by lawmakers, government ministers, the Grand Sheikh of Egypt's key Muslim institution, Al-Azhar, Coptic Pope Tawadros II, and other political and public figures. In a speech after being declared winner of the 2018 presidential race, President Sisi paid tribute to the Egyptians for having intensively participated in the electoral process. He also pledged to spare no effort for the good of the country and to keep upholding the resolve to achieve development and realise stability.
