CAIRO, May 28, 2018 (MENA) - The presidency has mourned former prime minister and former Shura Council chairman Ali Lotfy who passed away Sunday, and offered condolences to his family. In a statement Monday, the presidency said Lotfy set an example in serving his homeland in the academic, economic and political domains. Lotfy died at the age of 83 after a long battle with illness and his funeral will be held at the Police Mosque in Sheikh Zayed. The late premier served as Egypt's prime minister from September 4, 1985 to November 9, 1986. He also held the post of chairman of Shura Council from 1986 until 1989.
