CAIRO, May 7, 2018 (MENA) - Egypt's Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister Abdel Moneim el Banna has discussed with a mission representing the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) final measures in preparation for the inauguration of the fund's regional office in Cairo, due in September. The new office is set to work for intensifying cooperation between Egypt and IFAD. In this regard, Banna met Monday with IFAD's Director for the Near East and North Africa Khalida Bouzar to review agricultural projects between Egypt and the fund. Banna said -during the meeting - IFAD is playing an important role in combating poverty and improving income of small farmers. Egypt and IFAD enjoy deep relations, the agriculture minister said, adding that his ministry is keen on facilitating all measures for establishing the fund's regional office in Cairo. For her part, Bouzar said she is happy with enhanced cooperation with Egypt , pointing out that the new regional office will be in charge of carrying out projects in Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Sudan, Yemen, Djibouti, Eritrea and Somalia.
