CAIRO, April 30, 2018 (MENA) - "Tahya Misr" or "Long Live Egypt" Fund announced on Monday that it secured 41,000 drug packs for the treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV) during March and April 2018. The packs were distributed by the medical centres affiliated to the National Committee for Combatting Hepatitis C in 19 governorates to hepatitis C patients who were diagnosed by the Health Ministry's medical convoys. Ever since it was established, the fund, in coordination with the Heath Ministry, contributed to the treatment of more than 160,000 HCV patients as per a national viral hepatitis action plan. The fund also set up "Tahya Misr HCV Treatment Centre" in the Upper Egyptian governorate of Luxor. It also adopted several medical survey initiatives to examine one million citizens across the country as of August 2017.
