CAIRO, April 12, 2018 (MENA) - A medical campaign launched to eliminate Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) has examined about 585,000 citizens nationwide, a well-placed medical official said on Thursday. About 266 basic care units and medical centres have been established nationwide to examine citizens, who might be infected with the Hepatitis C Virus, diabetes, blood pressure, obesity and skinniness, Vice Chairman of the National Committee for the Control of Viral Hepatitis Yehia el Shazly said in statements. Out of all, 34,000 citizens have been diagnosed with HCV, he added. The campaign targets people between the ages of 19 and 59. The campaign comes as part of an initiative launched by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to eliminate the virus by 2020.
