CAIRO, April 29, 2018 (MENA) - Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed el Tayyeb said on Sunday that humanity is in dire need of religion and religious teachings and morals, noting that the moderation of Islam ensures justice and equality for all. This came during the Imam's participation in the Indonesia Global Scholars' Forum (IGSF) as part of his current tour in Asia. Islam considers non-Muslims as brothers and sisters in humanity, el Tayyeb noted, adding that the key message of all revealed religions has always been guiding people towards doing good and warning them against deviating from God's orders. El Tayyeb refered to the Quran verses and the sayings of the Prophet of Islam that urge every Muslim to treat all people as brothers/sisters in humanity, regardless of their religion or creed. El Tayyeb highlighted Al Azhar's role in promoting Islam's message of peace and moderation.
