CAIRO, April 6, 2018 - THE talks in Khartoum between Egypt, Ethiopia, Sudan to resolve differences over a dam Ethiopia is building have ended without reaching agreement, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri said upon arrival in Cairo early Friday. Minister Shoukri said that the 16-hour talks did not produce a joint decsion. He said that the three countries' foreign ministers, irrigation ministers and intelligence chiefs had held frank and transparent talks on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). But the talks ended without a deal, Minister Shoukri said, adding that an other meeting would be held next month. A new round of talks on GERD had kicked off in capital Khartoum Thursday.The meeting was held after a summit brought together the leaders of the three countries in Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa in January.
