Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met Tuesday with his Ethiopian counterpart Twadharos Adhanom, in light of the African Union summit in Addis Ababa. The two ministers discussed bilateral ties and the latest updates on the Grand Renaissance Dam issue. The recent talks between the two countries have failed to reach a resolution, as the spokesperson of Egypt's Irrigation ministry for the Renaissance Dam issue, Alaa Yassin, said Egypt has committed to the road map agreed upon in Khartoum, condemning Ethiopia's determination to build the dam with the same technical deficiencies that affect Egypt's share of Nile water. The 24th round of African Union (AU) summit will be held Friday in Addis Ababa with the participation of over 40 African heads of states led by President Abdel Fattah Al- Sisi.
